Shortly after graduating with his MBA in 1992, Michael became a Financial Advisor with an Investment firm in Sault Ste. Marie. In 1999, an opportunity arose to join Manulife Wealth Inc., where he is now one of their Senior Financial Advisors.

Supporting charities and the community is important to the Skinner Family, and so Michael has volunteered on a number of Boards, including: Thrive Child Development Centre – Foundation, The Arts Council of Sault Ste. Marie and District, The Manulife Retail Investments Advisory Board, and City of Sault Ste. Marie Economic Development Corporation.

Michael believes in a strong on-going education and is always taking Investment Industry courses to have the most up to date information available. He holds the highest honour in the Canadian financial services industry - the Fellow of the Canadian Securities Institute (FCSI).

In addition, he holds a number of degrees and industry designations, including: a BA, a Master's of Business Administration (MBA), Financial Management Advisor (FMA), Elder Planning Counselor (EPC), and Chartered Investment Manager (CIM).

The Skinner Family lives in Sault Ste. Marie, ON, and consists of Michael, his wife Jennifer, and two daughters, Alexandra and Brooke.

 

 

Melissa joined our team January 2020. She brings an array of knowledge and experience that she has developed over seven years in the financial industry. Melissa's role on the team is Mutual Funds Advisor Assistant, and will be the first point of contact in the office to assist with all administrative needs. Her attention to detail and customer service skills is an asset to our team to meet our clients needs. Melissa is a licensed assistant and has a degree from the University of Windsor. In her free time she loves to spend time with her husband and two children.
